LEARNING TO SWIM AND LEARNING THE RULES OF WATER SAFETY, is good common sense in these days of universal water sports. The Markle Pool saw this rising need as far in the past as 1958, when Learn to Swim Classes were started in cooperation with Huntington County Red Cross. This program has been improved thru the years, so that those youths who want to improve their skills may do so. We start with BEGINNER, then succeed in steps.
Participating in these summer classes at Markle Pool is not only for safety and skill, it is a lot of FUN. One of the finest the things a parent can do for the child or youth, is to insist they become good swimmers and always practice the rules of safe swimming.
As in the past there is a nominal fee to cover the pool operation, and to conduct these classes. This fee is $25.00 for the full two weeks of instruction.
One-half of the fee is to be paid at registration, and the balance on the Monday that instruction begins, for the two week course. Our policy is, and always has been that EVERY child should be given swim instruction, especially if they come to our pool. NOTE: PARENTS PLEASE ACCOMPANY YOUR CHILD TO THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES, IF POSSIBLE. A brief orientation session will be held for parents at this time. It will be followed by a question and answer period.
